Winter art project

MITTENIN WINTER

One of my most popular posts is the mitten winter art project I did with my second graders two years ago {original post}. I found this idea on this french page here.

We cut and teared tissue paper in small pieces and glued them on the mitten printable I found here.

After we covered everything with acrylic varnish.

While the varnish was drying we started with our beautiful winter background.

We used blue, white and black paint for the background. To get a much more interesting structure we used a sponge instead of a paintbrush. It is important to mix the colors on the piece of paper to give it a cold, freezing look.

Some of my little ones added beautiful snowflakes to their backgrounds.

At the end we just glued a wooden clothespin on the background and hung the mitten.

If you add a "clothespin" it looks as if alle the mittens have been stick to a clothespin and are now hanging in the winter cold :).

Thank you for visiting!
